Synopsis:
A flat-broke Joker discovered he’s been willed $250 million from an old rival. He immediately buys his sanity and goes on a super-supremo shopping spree, only to discover most of the money is fake and he owes the IRS! Ooops…

The Good:
This episode is pretty chocka-block with golden crack moments. Among some of the more enjoyable parts are Joker going on his shopping spree montage, rife with visual gags, the replacing Harley scene (in which Paul Dini makes an hilarious cameo), and Joker proving his sanity. Also, I guess we needed to see it – Harley getting her own back on her Mistah J for daring to replace her!!

The Bad:
While this episode is heaps of light-hearted fun, a lot of it feels out of character to me as well.  I do like some semblance of reality to prop up all the fantastical stuff and I do find it hard to believe someone with as bloody a criminal history as Joker could honestly buy his freedom. I also find it hard to believe he could let go of his fixation on Batman – though I do believe he could ‘go legit’ as part of a larger scheme to annoy Bats, just as I can believe he replaces Harley in order to upset her, but this isn’t indicated. Still, this episode is pretty awesome nonetheless!

Overall:
3/5
