Harley's Holiday
Main Stars: Harley Quinn Batman Robin Voice Talent: Arleen Sorkin Kevin Conroy Loren Lester Writer: Paul Dini Director: Synopsis: Harley has been declared sane and ready to re-enter society. She’s thrilled, naturally! Unfortunately for poor Harls, she’s out only one day before she manages to get herself into some major trouble over a mix-up with a dress and a store alarm. Cue steadily escalating mayhem and madness as Harley goes from one scrape to another in the way only she can! Bless! The Good: It’s so great to see a solo Harley story, especially when it’s as much fun as this one! It’s hilarious the way Harley attracts trouble. From setting off a store alarm, to kidnapping an heiress, to running afoul of Detective Bullock to crossing Boxy Bennett only to encounter Veronica Vreeland’s father in a tank, even when she’s trying to live a normal life, she can’t help but find herself tassel-deep in action. I think what’s so cute about this is Harley really isn’t trying to cause trouble, yet somehow she can’t help it. Also, it’s fun to watch the people around her get more and more dishevelled, battered and beleaguered while Harley remains relatively unscathed. And while this episode is pretty much pure fun start to finish, there’s also a few nice emotional moments from our Harls. She really did want to make a go of things. Poor Harls! She also looks really gorgeous in this ep and I thought the animation on her was really lovely. The Bad: No Mistah J! But that’s the shipper in me. Hrm. Oh, don’t look at me. I’m very attached to this episode! 'Objective' has never been my style. Overall: 4/5 Recommended: Applesolutely! |
